This painting portrays a charming piazza in the town of Lagos, a small fishing town in Portugal's' southern coastal region, the Algarve, late February 2020. This was the first painting begun last March upon our return from Portugal just days before the USA began its COVID-19 shutdown and quarantine. I was struck by the green tiled building and other architectural elements such as the shapes of the windows, etc. Tweaking the colors of my photographs gave me the final inspiration to pursue the painting.
